--Mini Update--
Pioneer doubles was chilled and windy. Of the seven teams to compete, one outdistanced the rest. Matt Hall and his partner Lissa Villamin judged the wind better than anyone else to shoot a low 47 (-7) to capture the win. This is Lissa's first win as a Crusher, and the first since becoming a club officer. Steve Dodge tried to continue his winning streak, but he and partner Josh Pulfrey came up two strokes short for second.
Josh Harris and Steve Geyerman took third, Ryan Middlebrook and Jeremy Bledsoe took a CTP apiece. Come out to the first lake mini of the year next weekend!
Pioneer was the sight of singles play this past weekend. Many new Crushers joined to get in on the first tag round of the year. With many competitors came great competition. One man who couldn't be handled was Steve Dodge. His 49 (-5) on the hilly Pioneer course was enough to win the day. This is Steve's second win in two weeks proving that he's going to be the guy to chase in 2012. Dewayne Sullivan topped the Intermediate group with his strong round of 57. Come out next week for doubles action at Pioneer!
The first doubles round of the year was a barn-burner from beginning to end with a super-team draw of Steve Dodge and Josh Harris facing off against the one man team of Lucas Collier. When the dust settled, Dodge and Harris emerged victorious with a tough round of 43 (-11) edging Lucas by a stroke. The rest of the field struggled to match their speed. Maybe more competitive doubles golf will be seen at Pioneer.
Nacogdoches Lake Course
Come out and play our newest course. Still under final development, the lake course has all baskets and tee-boxes up and playable. However, signage is still an issue being resolved. Most holes have a wooden marker, but not all. This challenging course currently plays about a par 61. Come try to top the mini record of 54 or the Open record of 50! If you are planning to visit and would like a guide, please let us know. More info can be found in the Where to Play page listed in the sidebar.
2012 Nacogdoches Minis
